Hol Chan Marine Park
and
Shark Ray Alley |
These are the most common snorkel stops. The Fish are fed here and are not afraid of you. So close encounters are the norm. There are a variety of fish .. to many species to list. You will see a lot. We try to leave about 11am to get there over the lunch hour. That way we can usually avoid the busy time periods of the day. Most dive shops have strict 9am and
2 pm schedules so this usually works. Most trips take from 2 to 4 hours. But we leave that to you within reason. Many people are 'fishes' that like to stay in the water a long time and that is ok with us. We supply drinks on the boat. |
Mexico Rocks. |
Mexico Rocks is 7 Miles north of San Pedro town center. It is a large coral area close to the reef. You can expect to see nice corals there as well as a variety of smaller reef fish. Dolphins come through on occasion as do Eagle Rays and StingRays. Because it is further from town it is generally less busy there. Many times we take our customers right up to the reef after they are done at Mexico Rocks for a bonus. Many have appreciated this in the past. Snorkeling right on the reef is interesting. In many areas you can actually stand on a sandy bottom. |
Cruising the Reef
|
We think that this is great fun. We just go to the reef and drive along until we find an interesting looking spot. We anchor the boat in a sandy area and hop in to see what is there. We must confess that we are starting to find some favorite spots though. These trips usually find us alone on the reef and that is nice. |
| The Caye Caulker Trip |
This is a great trip. We pick you up and take you to Hol Chan and then Shark Ray Alley. Following that we take you to the next Caye over which is Caye Caulker. You can wander there for a few hours and check things out, buy gifts or have a meal. Then we bring you back. This trip runs from about 9 am until about 3pm |
